Force gauge

We all have done are experiments in school to calibrate a Force Gauge. As students we used the force of the Earth’s gravity to calibrate the force gauges in newtons. The experiments starts with hanging dissimilar masses on a force gauge and mark the position of the gauge’s thin blade on a card. By employing masses in the range of 0–100 grams, you can create a scale from 0–1 newton. Utilizing masses up to 1 kilogram, you can calibrate the gauge’s thick blade up to 10 newtons.

In the market place these force gauges come in various forms – digital and manual. In today world everything is gone digital. Digital push pull force gauges measure the tension or compression applied to the probe. It can do Direct reading tension (+) and compression (-). It is suitable for a wide range of applications - Units for 500 gf (1 lb) to 50 kgf (100 lbs) range. The gauge comes well equipped with complete with hook, probes and other adaptor tips plot load graph on the LCD screen and Portable works with NiCd battery, built in memory backup. Most digital force gauge have built in memory, analog and digital outputs and can record sample name and lot ID plus time and date. You can download data to your PC or printer with RS232 serial interface and also customize the display to read up down or across the LCD screen depending on the orientation of the unit

The manual force gauge is not very different. It does direct reading tension (+) and compression (-). It ranges from Units for I kgf (2 lb) to 50 kgf (100 lbs) range. Simialr to digital force gauge, it complete with hook, probes and other adaptor tips. It also has a readout in Kilograms force, Newtons. These are convenient compact instruments economical and always ready to use.  Comes complete with a set of probe tips and extension rod as shown

These force gauges can be used to inspection and testing of all kinds of precision parts and mechanisms including relay contacts, and switches. They can conduct strength testing for components and assemblies such as wire harness. The force gauge can apply connection testing measure the pull out and insertion force of all kinds of connectors and fitted components.
